Efficiency of Land Use in Smallholder Palm Oil Plantations in Indonesia: A Stochastic Frontier Approach
نویسندگان
چکیده
Indonesia has become the country with largest palm oil production. However, level of productivity per land in tends to remain stagnant. The main objective this study is evaluate lands smallholders that experience inefficiency. In analyzing efficiency, used cross-section data obtained from Statistics (BPS). This uses an input distance function approach stochastic frontier analysis tools. Our estimation results found on average, plantations face inefficiency smallholder not proportional negative impacts it caused. intensification plantation one ways reduce rate deforestation and optimize available land. Land can be done through selection potential lands, renewal programs for trees, supporting facilities infrastructure, technology development.

Land Use Changes and GHG Emissions from Tropical Forest Conversion by Oil Palm Plantations in Riau Province, Indonesia
Increasing prices and demand for biofuel and cooking oil from importer countries have caused a remarkable expansion of oil palm plantations in Indonesia. In this paper, we attempt to monitor the expansion of oil palm plantations on peat land and in tropical forests. We measure the GHG emissions from the land conversion activities at provincial scale. Using Landsat images from three different pe...

Background Hospitals are highly resource-dependent settings, which spend a large proportion of healthcare financial resources. The analysis of hospital efficiency can provide insight into how scarce resources are used to create health values. This study examines the Technical Efficiency (TE) of 12 teaching hospitals affiliated with Tehran University of Medical Sciences (TUMS) between 1999 and 2...

Palm Oil and Palm Waste Potential in Indonesia
The expansion of oil palm cultivation in Indonesia has been driven by a strong world demand for food especially fats and oils. Commencing in the island of Sumatra, it spread out to other island like Kalimantan, Sulawesi and Irian but not to the island of Bali which was already well developed. The role of palm oil in developing remote inland regions and improving the standard of living of rural ...
